Iconic Image & Lighting

  1. The light source in this one is a studio light.
  2. In this picture, the light is kind of on the side of the model a little above her head.
  3. To recreate this image’s lightning, I would probably need to use somebody to “model” so I can get the lighting in the right place.
  4. The camera is in front of the subject just slightly above the model’s head.
  5. The model’s side is what is in from of the camera and her head is tilted a little towards the camera and down.

  1. The light source that is used is the sun.
  2. The light is up in the top right corner shining down onto the model.
  3. For this image, if you wanted to use the studio light you would put it above the model and if you wanted to use the sun, you would need to find a spot where the light would be above the model and a wall that could provide a little shade.
  4. The camera is directly in front of the model.
  5. The model is off-centered a little and her body isn’t completely facing the camera, but her head is.

Video Questions:

  • The photographer should shoot this series of images from one place. They should first capture their full image then zoom in to get the other images and capture details.
  • Joiners give an illusion of time and space by capturing different views of the same subject with different lightning and angles of each picture.
  • Physically arranging the photos and using Photo Shop to arrange the photos is similar because you decide where to place certain images and can control what view you want people to see. You also can decide what images layer on top of others.
  • Some pros of Photo Shop joiners are that you can layer the pictures on top of each other easier and arrange the size of each image to better fit the overall picture. You also don’t have to go through a stack of images many times to find the ones that you want. Some cons of Photo Shop joiners are that it can be more difficult to navigate versus having it out in front of you.
  • I prefer the more organized and exact style over joiners because I prefer having everything line up versus being scattered across the board. I like all the different things you can do with an exact image and that it is organized instead of just put together.
